"Experience a Masterpiece of both Design and Technology"

Saunders Residence

January 2019

Design Doc Three

Positioned at the southernmost tip of Miami Beach, where the Atlantic Ocean, Government Cut, and the Miami skyline converge, this residence occupies one of the most sought-after locations within the Continuum South Tower. Rather than purchasing a single apartment, the client assembled multiple adjoining residences to capture the tower's entire southern oceanfront exposure, transforming separate condominium units into a single, uninterrupted waterfront home.
Designed for the CEO of Under Armour, the residence reflects a lifestyle where business, hospitality, and personal relationships intersect. The home was conceived as both a private sanctuary and an exceptional venue for entertaining distinguished guests from the worlds of professional sports, fashion, business, and philanthropy. Team owners, elite athletes, executives, designers, and industry leaders regularly gathered here, requiring an environment that balanced understated luxury with effortless functionality.
Every design decision was guided by the experience of entertaining at the highest level. Public spaces flow seamlessly from one gathering area to the next, allowing intimate conversations, formal dinners, and larger social events to occur simultaneously without compromising comfort or privacy. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean while flooding the interiors with natural light, making the landscape an active participant in the architectural experience.
Rather than relying on excess, the design emphasizes timeless materials, carefully proportioned spaces, museum-quality artwork, and custom furnishings that reinforce a sense of quiet sophistication. The architecture serves as a backdrop for conversation, relationships, and memorable experiences, allowing the people occupying the space to become the focal point.
The editorial photographs that follow document more than a completed residence. They illustrate how architecture can elevate hospitality, support meaningful connections, and create an environment worthy of some of the world's most accomplished individuals. Together, they present a portrait of a home designed not simply for luxury, but for leadership, influence, and the art of welcoming others.
