The Game Had Other Plans.

Basketball is remarkably good at escaping its court. It turns strangers into allies, a color into a declaration, and an ordinary evening into something people arrange their lives around.
For Guycorp, that emotional reach became a design opportunity. The Orlando Finals hospitality environment gave anticipation somewhere to gather: blue-and-white light, illuminated service elements and intimate seating brought the occasion closer without diminishing its scale. The game supplied the excitement. The environment gave people room to enjoy it together.
The proposed 2026 extensions carry that thinking into the city. Airport arrivals, station connections and downtown encounters become part of a continuous welcome. Inside the arena, coordinated seat lighting would let the audience participate in the spectacle, while pre-game court activities would give spectators a moment of their own.
Beyond the venue, proposed gallery and pop-up campaigns explore basketball through other appetites: the poised energy of metal sculpture, the improbable glamour of crystal-covered balls, the familiar pebble texture finding its way onto heels and high-tops. Conceived as collectible and potential charity-auction experiences, these proposals connect sport with craft, fashion and personal expression.
A championship decides who takes home the trophy. Design has a broader interest in what everyone else takes home.
