Nothing Below the Penthouse

There are firms that do everything. Home Express does one thing, in one place, at the very top of the building. Based at South Pointe in Miami Beach, the company designs, builds and renovates penthouse residences exclusively—an unusually precise business model for clients whose expectations tend to begin where most residential projects end. Their office therefore could not feel like a contractor’s workplace with nicer finishes. It had to communicate judgment before anyone opened a sample drawer.
GUY developed two complete design concepts for the Home Express workplace, deliberately exploring different expressions of the same brand. One is natural, architectural and quietly sophisticated; the other moves toward stark contemporary Miami—black, white and cobalt blue, industrial elements, polished surfaces and larger architectural gestures. Different personalities, same discipline: a working environment for a company selling design intelligence, construction expertise and discretion to one of the most demanding residential markets in Miami Beach.
The assignment brought together interior architecture, workplace planning, materials, lighting, graphics and brand experience rather than treating them as separate exercises. GUY’s role was to translate what makes Home Express commercially distinctive—specialization, confidence and an almost obsessive focus on one residential typology—into physical space. When your clients live at the top of the building, the office presenting the work cannot feel like it came from the ground floor.

“The best rooms have something to say about the people who live in them.”
