Created as a fully immersive Fashion Week 2026 retail build-out, The Encounter gives the Alien / Prometheus story the logic of a place with something to investigate. Cryogenic chambers, artifacts, and biomechanical forms establish the fiction; the route through them gives visitors a role in it. Fashion and eyewear enter that story as objects to study, handle, and ultimately wear. Gentle Monster’s talent for making retail feel uncanny finds a surprising counterpart in Jacquemus’s artful, human-scale sense of desire. One brand invites the question; the other makes the answer worth taking home.
It is a store, certainly. But for a moment, curiosity gets to run the experiment.
